There was a style for every kid: Bamm-Bamm, Bozo the Clown, Fred Flintstone, Popeye, Scooby-Doo, Flipper (the Dolphin), Huckleberry Hound, Bullwinkle, Batman, Frosty the Snowman, Yogi Bear, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Gumby & Pokey, King Kong, Snoopy, Dennis the Menace, and Sock-It-To-Me (from Laugh-In w/Goldie Hawn).

And those were only a few of the first generation.

 

Each decade boasts its own novelty collection from the 1960s-today.

The song was inspired by a 10-day, cross-country drive taken by

Bobby and his first wife, Cynthia.

 

As a former Marine, Bobby was accustomed to drive and discipline. He was beloved and respected as a family man, musician, and actor.

Following their successful individual and joint careers in music, Bobby Troup and his wife Julie London were cast in a five-year run on the hit 1970s series, Emergency!
